RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Palestinian female detainees in Damon jail have endured repeated violent assaults, arbitrary measures, and humiliating treatment in recent days, as part of an escalating repressive policy pursued against them at the behest of far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
According to the Asra Media Office, citing informed sources, Israeli forces carried out repeated violent raids on cells of female prisoners in Damon jail during December.
During those raids, soldiers forced the detained women to lie face-down on the floor, ransacked the cells, used police dogs to terrorize them, and fired at least one stun grenade inside the section where they are held.
Asra Media added that the female detainees in Damon jail already suffer from bitter cold in the cells, especially at night, as they are barred from sleeping in winter jackets, while unglazed windows let frigid air seep in, intensifying their physical and psychological torment.
Asra Media appealed to international human rights groups to take urgent action to put an end to the suffering of Palestinian women in Damon jail.
