AL-KHALIL, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian worker was killed and seven others were injured on Thursday after their vehicles overturned and came under gunfire during a chase by Israeli forces and settlers at the entrance of Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil.
Dr. Iyad Abu Zahra, director of Yatta Hospital, said that one fatality arrived at the hospital after a vehicle he was in came under Israeli gunfire, adding that another victim, wounded by a bullet in the thigh, was admitted to the operating room.
Local sources reported that a worker identified as Yusri Abu Qubeita was killed, while seven others sustained injuries after their vehicles overturned following a chase by Israeli soldiers and settlers in the Fatih Sidra area of Masafer Yatta, as they attempted to reach their workplaces inside the 1948 occupied territories.
The sources added that Israeli soldiers and settlers opened fire intensively at the workers and their vehicles while pursuing them along the Umm al‑Khair road.
Settlers reportedly set fire to one of the workers’ cars after it overturned in the area.
