BETHLEHEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian youth was shot and killed by Israeli forces near the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, on Thursday evening allegedly for throwing stones at settler vehicles, according to Israeli media reports.
The Israeli organization “Rescue Without Borders” said that Israeli soldiers opened fire on a Palestinian accused of throwing stones, inflicting critical injuries to his upper body. The youth was later pronounced dead.
Following the incident, Israeli forces were reportedly placed on high alert in the area in search of another young man believed to have also been wounded but who managed to flee the scene.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed it had received a report of two potential injuries near the village of Husan. However, its medical teams were denied access to the scene by Israeli forces, who instructed them to leave the area.
The killing of Palestinians in such circumstances continues to raise serious concerns regarding the use of excessive and lethal force by Israeli forces, particularly in situations where non-lethal measures could have been employed and where victims are often denied immediate medical assistance, in violation of international humanitarian law.
