ISTANBUL (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad is slated to kick off its national political gathering on Saturday, April 12, 2025, under the slogan “The Palestinian people reject displacement projects and there is no alternative to the right of return.”
The event, set to be held in Istanbul, will wrap up its activities on April 19 with the participation of 250 Palestinian noted figures.
“This political conference comes at a critical stage for the Palestinian cause, especially amid the ongoing genocidal war waged by the occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip and the displacement project led by Netanyahu with support from president Trump,” Semaan Khoury, head of the Popular Conference’s General Commission, said in a statement published on the Conference’s website on Thursday.
Khoury added that this political meeting presents an important opportunity to examine practical steps to thwart the displacement project and the various suspicious deals targeting the rights of the Palestinian people. He also highlighted the importance of agreeing on tools to strengthen Palestinian resilience and confront displacement, annexation, and Judaization.
Khoury also pointed to the significance of the conference in terms of the diversity of participating Palestinian national political figures, which reflects a broad spectrum of political representation. He added that this diversity allows for a comprehensive discussion on confronting genocide and Israeli displacement from a national perspective.
“The conference will address all aspects of the Palestinian cause, which reinforces the unity of the Palestinian people both inside and outside the homeland, affirms their shared destiny, and strengthens their commitment to their legitimate rights,” he said.
According to its organizers, the conference will consist of five sessions, focusing on and addressing pressing issues affecting Palestinians both locally and globally, with particular emphasis on supporting Gaza and UNRWA.
