Palestinians in Nur Shams Demand Repatriation to Ancestral Homes

WEST BANK, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)

Residents of the Nur Shams refugee camp, located east of Tulkarem city, held a protest calling for their return to their homes, from which they have been forcibly displaced by the Israeli occupation forces for over ten months.

Dozens of citizens, including women and children, participated in the demonstration, which took place near the Israeli military outpost at the entrance of the camp. They stressed the urgent need to end their harsh displacement and the ongoing aggression by the occupation.

Participants held signs in both Arabic and English declaring that displacement is a crime, that returning home is a right, and demanding an end to the ongoing suffering of forced displacement.

The Israeli occupation army continues its military assault on the city of Tulkarem and the nearby Nur Shams camp for the 277th consecutive day.

The city and surrounding areas remain under constant military reinforcements, with Israeli forces patrolling the streets, restricting the movement of residents and vehicles by setting up mobile checkpoints at several intersections.

This ongoing aggression has led to the forced displacement of over 5,000 families from both Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, affecting more than 25,000 people.

Additionally, more than 600 homes have been completely destroyed, and 2,573 homes have been partially damaged, rendering the camps nearly devoid of life.

The assault has resulted in the killing of 14 civilians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured or detained, and widespread destruction has been inflicted on homes, infrastructure, shops, and vehicles.
