OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestinian Information Center) A Palestinian workman was martyred on Monday morning when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at him near the separation wall in al-Ram town, north of Jerusalem.
According to local sources, the IOF shot dead a young worker after he tried to cross into Israel (1948 occupied Palestine) through the wall in al-Ram town and then detained his body.
The martyr was identified as Sanad al-Hantuli, a worker from the town of Silat al-Dhahr, southwest of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Red Crescent said that one of its ambulance crews received the martyr’s body from al-Dahiya area of Jerusalem and transferred him to Palestine Hospital in Ramallah City.
Israel, an occupying power, prevents the development of an independent Palestinian economy by restricting imports, exports, industrial development and movement, and by taking over land reserves and other Palestinian resources. This leaves Palestinians with no possibility to make a substantial living within the West Bank and forces them to risk entering Israel to find daily jobs to support themselves and their families.
