GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Pope Francis has appealed for an end to the conflict in Gaza, urging the world to say: “Enough, please! Stop.”
Addressing a large crowd of people in St Peter’s Square in Vatican City, the pope expressed concern over the consequences of the conflict in Palestine and Israel.
“Each day, I carry in my heart with pain the suffering of the populations in Palestine and Israel due to the ongoing hostilities, thousands of dead, injured, displaced,” Francis said.
“Do you really think you can build a better world in this way? Do you really think you will achieve peace? Enough please! Let us all say enough, please! Stop!”
He then urged the continuation of negotiations “so that the hostages may be released and return to their dear ones who wait for them with anxiety, and the civilian population may have secure access to the needed and urgent humanitarian aid.”
