RAMALLAH(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have arrested more than 10,300 citizens in the West Bank including released prisoners since October 7 last year.
The PPS reported in a statement on Thursday that the number of arrested women amounted to about 355, (including women who were arrested from 1948 occupied Palestine and the Gazan women who were arrested from the West Bank), noting that this figure does not include dozens of women rounded up in Gaza.
The tally of the arrests among children in the West Bank also amounted to no less than 720, while the number of journalist detainees jumped to 96, with 50 of whom are still under arrest, including five female journalists, and at least 17 others from Gaza, and 14 journalists held under administrative detention.
This brings the number of administrative detention orders since the beginning of the Israeli war of genocide to more than 8,322, including new orders and renewals, as well as arrest orders against children and women.
In addition to administrative arrest campaigns, the IOF carried out field executions, including members of the detainees’ families, the PPS statement highlighted.
It added that these figures do not include the number of arrests from Gaza, noting that Israel acknowledged the arrest of more than 4,500 citizens from Gaza, hundreds of whom were released later.
