Islamabad (Palestine Foundation Information Center), U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to join the newly established Board of Peace for Gaza.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Tahir Andarabi stated that the invitation was formally extended to Pakistan’s Prime Minister. Pakistan will actively participate in global efforts to ensure peace and security in Gaza, aiming for a sustainable and long-term solution to the Palestine issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
President Trump has also sent letters to Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi inviting them to join the peace board. The board will provisionally oversee matters in Gaza and is part of the second phase of the ceasefire plan.
The peace board is expected to monitor an administrative committee composed of technocrats, with U.S. President Donald Trump serving as its head. Turkey’s presidential office has also confirmed President Erdoğan’s participation in the board.
