Qaradaghi urges Ummah to fulfill their duty towards Gaza

GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Dr. Ali Qaradaghi, president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), has called on the Arab and Muslim peoples and leaders to fulfill their duty towards the Gaza Strip by providing support and breaking the Israeli siege on its population.

In a statement on Sunday, Qaradaghi said that the Israeli occupation regime violates the international law and ethics by preventing food, medical and shelter supplies from entering Gaza, calling such an Israeli practice as a “crime against humanity.”

“The world is staring down a very serious ethical dilemma today — one that extends far beyond Gaza to a global scale. However, Gaza has exposed that and laid bare the true nature of the countries that claim to uphold democracy and defend human dignity,” Qaradaghi added.

“Yesterday, we marked the International Women’s Day. Do you know how many women were martyred or killed? How many women were widowed in Gaza? How many women were abused, imprisoned, and kidnapped? Where are women’s rights and human rights in this world,” the IUMS president underscored.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to organize pro-Gaza protests and rallies outside US and European embassies, especially in the countries where there are Israeli embassies.
