GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas spokesperson in Gaza, Hazem Qassem, said on Friday that, in response to the “Peace Council” meeting, Israeli forces have intensified demolition, destruction, and airstrikes in eastern Gaza since early this morning.
In a press statement, Qassem said this behavior demonstrates that Israel is disregarding international discussions and pursuing a separate agenda to continue what he described as a genocidal war.
He emphasized that a genuine and unified stance is required from all parties within the “Peace Council” to exert real pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing genocide and to end its violations of the ceasefire agreement.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces, backed by the United States and European countries, have carried out a genocidal war in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and detention, while ignoring international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt these actions.
According to available figures, the death toll has exceeded 242,000 Palestinians killed or injured, most of them women and children, with more than 11,000 reported missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many, primarily children, amid widespread destruction that has devastated most cities and areas across the Gaza Strip.
