DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari expressed his “strong” denunciation of the remarks attributed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the Qatari mediation.
“The remarks attributed to Netanyahu are irresponsible and destructive to the efforts to save innocent lives but are not surprising,” Al-Ansari said.
“If the reported remarks are found to be true, the Israeli PM would only be obstructing and undermining the mediation process, for narrow political reasons,” he added.
“Instead of concerning himself with Qatar’s strategic relations with the United States, we hope Netanyahu decides to concentrate on the release of the hostages,” Al-Ansari said.
This came after Netanyahu had criticized Qatar, saying its “mediation role in the exchange deal with Hamas constitutes a problem.”
Israeli Channel 12 reported a “leaked recording of Netanyahu from a meeting with hostages’ families, saying that Qatar is more problematic than the United Nations and the Red Cross.”
Since October 7, Israeli occupation army has been waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, with US and European support, leaving 25,700 martyrs and 63,740 injured.
