GAZA,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said on Wednesday that it had destroyed in the morning nine armored vehicles, mostly tanks, during clashes with infiltrating Israeli forces in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
In a communiqué, al-Qassam Brigades explained that a group of its fighters destroyed three Israeli tanks with Yassin 105 projectiles in the al-Taw’am area in the northwest of Gaza City.
Al-Qassam Brigades pointed out that one Israeli soldier was gunned down by one of its snipers in the same area.
In separate incidents, an Israeli tank burst into flames in the al-Salateen area, northwest of Beit Lahia, after al-Qassam fighters attacked it with one Yassin 105 projectile.
One tank and one troop carrier were also destroyed earlier in the morning with two Yassin 105 projectiles in the north of al-Taw’am area in Gaza City.
Soon later, al-Qassam fighters were destroyed with the same projectiles one tank in the al-Taw’am area and two other tanks in the southwest of Gaza City.
On Tuesday, al-Qassam Brigades destroyed and damaged a total of 15 Israeli armored vehicles, mostly tanks, on the outskirts of al-Shati refugee camp and in Beit Hanoun.
In a related context, the Israeli occupation army admitted on Wednesday that one of its soldiers was killed and three others were seriously injured during clashes with al-Qassam fighters in northern Gaza.
