Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said they had recovered the bodies of two Israeli captives during search operations on Tuesday.
In a brief statement, al-Qassam Brigades added that the recovered bodies belong to Amiram Cooper and Sahar Baruch.
In a previous statement, al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had located and recovered the body of an Israeli captive, but it postponed its handover due to ongoing Israeli ceasefire violations.
The Brigades warned that any Israeli escalation would obstruct search efforts, potentially delaying the recovery and return of Israeli corpses.
In a related context, senior Hamas official Suhail al-Hindi affirmed that the Palestinian resistance has no interest in keeping the body of any Israeli captive or delaying its handover.
In remarks on Tuesday, Hindi said that his Movement was making every possible effort to recover the bodies of Israeli captives, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for obstructing the retrieval of the remaining bodies.
He noted that his Movement was awaiting approval from the Israeli occupation to permit specialized teams to enter Rafah, in southern Gaza, to search for the remains of Israeli captives.
He added that the Israelis had rejected a request to grant search teams access to areas designated as “red zones” to look for Israeli bodies.
