Rafah crossing sees just 397 passengers since February 2

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) reported on Monday that only 397 people out of 1,600 expected passengers were able to travel through the Rafah border crossing since its reopening on February 2.

This came in a report covering Palestinian arrivals and departures through the crossing from Monday, February 2, to Monday, February 9, 2026.

According to the report, a total of 225 passengers were able to depart during that period, with the majority of them leaving to receive medical treatment abroad.

In contrast, arrival records showed that 172 citizens returned to the Gaza Strip during the same period.

The report also noted that 26 passengers were denied passage and were sent back without any stated reasons, adding that the Rafah crossing was closed to passenger movement on Friday and Saturday.
