GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli forces have continued their renewed offensive on the Gaza Strip for the ninth consecutive day on Wednesday, launching dozens of air raids and heavy bombardments on residential homes and displacement shelters.
The latest wave of attacks reflects a brutal escalation in the ongoing campaign of killing and collective punishment, which rights groups increasingly characterize as acts of genocide.
The PIC reporter said that residents of Gaza endured yet another night of relentless bombardment, as Israeli warplanes and artillery struck multiple areas across the besieged territory.
According to medical sources, at least 11 Palestinians have been killed since dawn today alone. Among the victims were Intisar Mustafa Issa al-Lahham, 69, and Mohammed Khaled Khader Saqr, 26, both killed in a strike near the al-Najjar family council building in central Khan Yunis. A third individual was wounded in the same attack.
In the central refugee camp of al-Bureij, a child was killed and several others injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential flat. Meanwhile, airstrikes were also reported north of al-Nuseirat camp, while heavy shelling by Israeli artillery struck areas in northern Beit Lahia.
In one of the deadliest incidents of the day, eight civilians, including five children, were killed and others wounded when Israeli forces bombed the al-Najjar family home in Jabalia, north of Gaza City. Further south, residents of Tel al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah reported loud explosions as homes were targeted by the Israeli forces.
Since the renewed offensive began on Tuesday, 18 March, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,660 injured—most of them women and children—according to the latest health ministry figures.
Israel’s assault on Gaza, which resumed after a brief ceasefire, continues a broader military campaign that began on 7 October 2023. To date, the onslaught has left over 163,000 Palestinians either dead or injured, with more than 14,000 people still missing—many believed to be buried beneath the rubble.
