DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Senior Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq has responded to the Israeli occupation government and its army following their threats to expand the war in the Gaza Strip.
“You are threatening to escalate the operation? What is left for you to do that you haven’t already? You have killed, starved and destroyed, but you have failed to break Gaza,” Resheq said in a statement on Friday.
“Any attempt to expand the military operation will only drag you deeper. The resistance fighters will be waiting for you,” Resheq added.
“Expanding the aggression will lead the resistance to broaden its targets and strikes. The release of prisoners can only be secured through a deal that ensures a permanent end to the war and a complete military withdrawal from Gaza,” the Hamas official underlined.
Israel’s security cabinet approved on Friday a plan to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip, according to the Hebrew media.
The plan includes preparations to mobilize a large number of reserve forces, who are already facing severe exhaustion.
