DOHA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Member of Hamas’s political bureau, Ezzat al-Resheq, said on Friday that the Israeli assassination of the American citizen Ezgi Eygi after being delibretly shot in the head in Beita town, south of Nablus, is “a horrific crime.”
Al-Resheq added in a press statement that this crime “reveals the brutality of the occupation, which is trying to assassinate all voices opposing its aggressive war against our land and people, and those in solidarity with our just cause.”
“These sinful bullets that assassinated this solidarity activist are the same bullets that the occupation army receives from the American administration, and with which it kills our people daily in all the occupied Palestinian territories.”
Earlier, the Hamas Movement condemned the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was fatally shot in the head with live ammunition fired by Israeli soldiers.
The 26-year-old activist was attending a demonstration in Beita near Nablus when she was shot.
“This heinous act is a part of the occupation’s crimes against those who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people,” Hamas said in a statement.
These acts are “systematic and ongoing and are committed by occupation forces and settlers alike”, the statement added.
Through these crimes, the Israeli government is trying to “silence every voice” that speaks out against its policies, it charged.
“We call on the international community … to hold the occupation’s government responsible for its fascist acts,” Hamas concluded.
