WEST BANK(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out 6,255 arrests in the West Bank since the start of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Palestinian rights groups revealed in a joint statement released on Wednesday.
6,255 Palestinians were detained in the West Bank, mainly in al-Khalil, as of January 24, the statement added.
The reported arrests included 210 women and more than 355 children.
Since Oct. 7, 50 journalists have been arrested; 35 of them remain in detention, while 20 were placed under administrative detention.
2,990 Israeli administrative detention orders were issued during the same reported period.
The rights groups pointed out that the arrest campaigns were accompanied by serious violations, including torture, severe beatings, and threats.
The IOF also confiscated vehicles, money, and gold jewelry during the reported campaigns, in addition to the mass destruction of infrastructure, specifically in Tulkarem and Jenin.
Seven Palestinian prisoners have died in Israeli jails since Oct. 30.
