RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex‑Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society have accused the Israeli occupation police of executing 21‑year‑old Qasim Shuqairat following a raid on his home in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel al-Mukaber on Wednesday.
In a joint statement, the two organizations explained that Israeli forces opened fire at Shuqairat immediately after storming his home, then kidnaped him without disclosing his fate, before it was later confirmed that he had succumbed to bullet injuries.
They condemned the incident as a “crime” and a “stark illustration of the escalating state of savagery in Israeli practices against Palestinians.”
“Extrajudicial executions are among the most prominent systematic practices pursued by the occupation for years, a practice that has escalated noticeably, especially since the war [on Gaza], including the targeting of civilians during raids and arrest operations in the West Bank,” they said.
