BEIJING,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)Saudi Arabia has called for a halt to the export of weapons and ammunition to the Israeli occupation state due to the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
During a speech at a meeting of the BRICS group of countries, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called on Tuesday for a cessation of the export of weapons and ammunition to Israel.
He added that “the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to worsen day by day, and decisive solutions must be found.”
Earlier, Riyadh welcomed the decision of the UN Security Council, which obliges the parties to the conflict to fulfill their obligations under international law and calls for the repeated adoption of a humanitarian ceasefire lasting several days to provide relief to civilians and save the children who bear the brunt of the ongoing attacks on Gaza.
This came in a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs last Thursday in response to the adoption by the Security Council last Wednesday of a draft resolution submitted by Malta, which called for an “immediate and extended” cessation of hostilities in Gaza between the Israeli army and the Palestinian resistance.
