AL-KHALIL,(Palestine Foundation Information Center )The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday morning the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City for three days under the pretext of Jewish holidays.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, the Israeli army decided to completely close the Ibrahimi Mosque, including its corridors, courtyards and premises, and ban Muslim worshipers form entering it for three days in order to allow Jewish settlers to hold celebrations.
The Awqaf Ministry strongly denounced the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshipers, calling the measure as part of systematic Israeli practices targeting Muslims’ freedom of worship and their holy site in al-Khalil.
The Ministry warned of increasingly aggressive Israeli measures targeting the Mosque in an attempt to control it and run its affairs.
The Ministry called on the international community and UNESCO to take urgent action to put an end to such Israeli violations, which threaten the purely Islamic religious character of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
