IOF demolishes home of Palestinian prisoner Ahmed al-Haimouni in al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)Israeli occupation forces (IOF) blew up the family home of Palestinian prisoner Ahmed Rafiq al-Haimouni in the Wadi Abu Ktila neighborhood of Al-Khalil on Monday.

Local sources said large numbers of Israeli troops, backed by military vehicles, trucks, and engineering units, raided several neighborhoods in Al-Khalil before surrounding the al-Haimouni family building.

The IOF soldiers then stormed the apartment belonging to prisoner Ahmed al-Haimouni, planted explosives, and detonated the entire unit after firing stun grenades and toxic gas to drive away residents and prevent them from approaching.

The explosion caused significant damage to nearby homes and terrified civilians, including children and elderly people.

On August 7, the IOF had previously demolished the nearby home of al-Haimouni’s cousin, prisoner Abdul Rahim Afeef al-Haimouni, also in the Abu Ktila area of Al-Khalil.

Abdul Rahim was arrested in October 2024 and later sentenced to life imprisonment by the Israeli occupation authorities, accused of participating in a resistance operation.

According to occupation claims, the two cousins, Ahmed al-Haimouni, who is now imprisoned, and martyr Mohammed al-Haimouni, carried out a joint resistance operation in Jaffa on October 1, 2024, killing seven Israelis and wounding sixteen others, some critically.

The attack came amid a series of blows to the Israeli occupation forces across multiple fronts, culminating in Iran’s large-scale missile strike dubbed “True Promise 2.”

The destruction of Palestinian homes as collective punishment remains a recurring Israeli tactic condemned by international human rights groups as a war crime under international law.
