WEST BANK, (The Palestinian Information Center) Senior Hamas official Abdul-Hakim Hanini has condemned far-right Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich’s “aggressive” remarks about imposing Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, calling them “clear evidence of his government’s fascist and expansionist agenda.”
Hanini said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation’s settlement plans and projects would fail to provide the security it claims to seek and would instead face more confrontation and resistance from the Palestinian people.
“No usurping colonial regime can secure a future on our Palestinian land, no matter how severe its cruelty and oppression become,” Hanini added.
The Hamas official expressed his belief that the Palestinian people would remain steadfast on their land and adherent to their national constants and historic rights, adding that “The Israeli attempts to impose new faits accomplis on the ground and deny the Palestinians their right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital will be doomed to failure,” he stressed.
Smotrich called on Wednesday for the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, showing a map that confirms his government’s annexation plans.
