BRUSSELS, (The Palestinian Information Center) Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of the Belgian capital on Sunday in large-scale marches condemning the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and demanding an immediate end to the assault.
The protests were organized by a coalition of 200 associations, with participants carrying red cards to denounce violations of international law and to call for sanctions against Israel.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out a campaign of genocide in Gaza, involving mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in defiance of international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the violence.
The ongoing assault has resulted in over 226,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to more than 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed many lives, including children. The destruction across the enclave is vast and unprecedented.
