GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan) Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has affirmed that the Palestinian people are exercising their legitimate right to resist the occupation after enduring decades of massacres, persecution and oppression.
“Our people have exercised their natural right to resist the occupation imposed on them generation after generation following decades of massacres, persecution, and oppression,” Mardawi said in a statement on the second anniversary of the October 7th battle, “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
“We did not go to South or North America, nor to Africa to fight the Zionists. Rather, they are the ones who have occupied our land, killed our children and women, and destroyed the foundations of our homeland,” Mardawi underscored.
“The political and humanitarian tragedies caused by the occupation are immeasurable in depth and scale. Yet, our struggle has always sought to end the aggression and reach an agreement that would bring lasting comfort to our people after years of suffering,” the Hamas official said.
He stressed that Hamas operates from a deep sense of responsibility, placing the interests of the Palestinian people above all considerations, without compromising its national principles or its legitimate right to self-defense.
In another statement on the Aqsa Flood anniversary, the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza described the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip as “one of the most horrific genocidal wars in human history.”
“Despite its brutality and the scale of destruction and massacres it has committed, the occupation has not succeeded in ending the resistance or breaking the Palestinian people’s will,” the factions said.
