TEHRAN (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Hamas delegation led by Mohammad Ismail Darwish, the head of Hamas’s leadership council, met senior Iranian officials in Tehran on Sunday.
The delegation met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Revolutionary Guards Commander Hossein Salami.
The delegation discussed the repercussions of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, as well as ways to support the Palestinian people and resistance.
Hamas leader Mohammed Darwish briefed the Iranian officials on the field developments in the Gaza Strip mainly the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, as well as the situation in the West Bank, Occupied Jerusalem, and Israeli prisons.
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the Palestinian people and the legendary performance in the battle of “The Al-Aqsa Flood” over the past 15 months.
He renewed his country’s total support for the Palestinian people in all fields, stressing the need to prosecute Israeli war criminals in all forums.
He also pointed out that he had made contacts with the foreign ministers of a number of regional countries, including Türkiye, Tunisia, Egypt and Pakistan; to discuss ways to confront US President Donald Trump’s displacement plan.
A ceasefire took effect in Gaza on Jan. 19, halting Israel’s genocidal war, which has killed more than 47,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and left the enclave in ruins.
