CAIRO, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A senior Hamas delegation headed by Khalil al Hayya, the Movement’s leader in the Gaza Strip, arrived on Tuesday evening in Cairo to discuss the completion of the ceasefire agreement.
In a press statement, the Movement said that the delegation will hold talks with Egyptian officials on continuing the implementation of the agreement’s provisions and advancing the first stage, which includes opening the Rafah crossing in both directions.
Hamas noted that the discussions will also address accelerating the transition to the second stage of the agreement, including the formation of the administrative committee and the completion of the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.
The delegation is also scheduled to hold meetings with leaders of Palestinian factions and forces to discuss the rapidly evolving political and field developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
