ALGIERS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A senior delegation of the Hamas Movement concluded on Tuesday a four-day visit to Algeria.
The Movement said in a statement that the delegation visited Algeria at the invitation of an Algerian party to attend a rally held to mark the first anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
It added that the delegation led by Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, member of the Movement’s Political Bureau, and included its representative in Algeria Yusuf Hamdan met with the Algerian National Assembly Speaker Salah Goudjil and many political figures in the country.
The delegation addressed a press conference explaining the Movement’s positions regarding various urgent issues and the desired role of Algeria in support of the Palestinian resistance.
The Hamas delegation affirmed during meetings with Algerian officials the importance of their country’s backing of the Palestinian resistance and efforts to unite Palestinian national ranks.
The delegation called for Algerian pressures in the international arena to stop the Israeli crimes in Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas, and to send aid to the beleaguered enclave. It also hoped that Algeria would receive more wounded Palestinians for treatment in its hospitals.
