WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Several areas in the West Bank witnessed a series of settler attacks on Wednesday evening, including setting fire to Palestinian lands, attacking commercial establishments, and installing Israeli flags on main roads.
In the western part of Ramallah, settlers set fire to lands in the town of Atara, northwest of the city in the central West Bank.
Local sources reported that settlers from a newly established outpost on the town’s land ignited the fires and prevented residents from extinguishing them.
In another incident, settlers attacked the entrance of the village of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus. Local sources said settlers assaulted the owner of a commercial establishment on the main road after he tried to stop them from placing Israeli flags in front of his shop.
Meanwhile, a group of settlers planted flags along the main Nablus-Ramallah road, near homes in the “Street Neighborhood” east of the village, under the protection of Israeli forces.
Elsewhere, dozens of settlers gathered at the roundabout of the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bethlehem.
A local source reported that groups of settlers gathered at the roundabout and began placing Israeli flags along the road leading to the village of Kisan to the east.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 766 attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank during October 2023 alone. These attacks included damage to agricultural property, with 48,728 trees destroyed or uprooted, 37,237 of them olive trees.
Official Palestinian data shows that since the start of the genocidal war on October 7, 2023, attacks by Israeli forces and settlers have killed more than 1,085 Palestinians, injured nearly 11,000, and resulted in the arrest of over 20,500 individuals.
