JERICHO (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli fanatic settlers launched on Monday morning attacks in the eastern and southern parts of the West Bank, burning a house and setting up tents for settlement purposes.
Local sources reported that settlers stormed the Ma’arajat community northwest of Jericho in the eastern West Bank and attacked citizens’ property.
Hassan Melihat, general supervisor of the Al-Beider Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Targeted Villages, said that settlers attempted to burn down a house belonging to one of the residents of the community and poured flammable materials on a tractor with the aim of setting it on fire, before residents intervened and managed to drive them away.
Melihat explained that the attack took place before the eyes of the Israeli occupation forces, who did not intervene to stop settlers’ attack, adding that a group of settlers stormed a sheep pen in the Arab Melihat community, northwest of Jericho, scattered the livestock, and caused fear and anxiety among the residents.
Meanwhile, settlers erected tents in the al-Maniya land east of Bethlehem, south of the West Bank, according to the head of the Al-Minya village council, Zayed Kawazba.
