Severe Storm Hits Gaza: Two Injured by Falling Wall

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Two people were injured on Thursday after a wall collapsed onto tents sheltering displaced families near central Gaza City, amid heavy rains and strong winds brought on by the low‑pressure weather system affecting the region.

Gaza’s civil defense service reported that the wall collapse occurred near Abu Asi Station on al‑Wahda street in the heart of Gaza City.

The storm that battered the Gaza Strip throughout the night and continued into Thursday has deepened the suffering of thousands of displaced families in different areas.

Rainwater seeped into many makeshift shelters and tents made of cloth and plastic and flooded others, forcing many displaced families to spend the night trying to drain the water and safeguard their belongings.

Families, especially children and the elderly, are facing dire health risks from the harsh weather and living conditions, compounded by severe shortages of heating supplies, winter clothing, water‑resistant shelters, and other vital needs.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army detonated more homes and carried out artillery and aerial attacks in the eastern and southeastern areas of the Gaza Strip, amid sounds of intensive gunfire.
