WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Abdul Rahman Shadeed, a leader in the Hamas Movement, has said that the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and its settlers in the West Bank will not shake the steadfastness and resilience of the Palestinian people, nor will they diminish their attachment to their land and legitimate rights.
These actions, he affirmed, will not fulfill the occupation’s illusions of annexation and displacement.
In media statements made Thursday, Shadeed emphasized that the occupation must bear the consequences of its ongoing crimes and assaults on the towns and cities of the West Bank, whose residents will never abandon the path of resistance, no matter how brutal the occupation becomes.
He underscored that resistance is a legitimate right of every people living under occupation, and the Palestinian people will continue to defend their land and holy sites by all possible means to repel this escalating aggression.
The Israeli occupation has continued its aggression against West Bank cities and towns for more than four months, resulting in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians, including children and women.
Earlier Thursday, settlers attacked citizens’ lands in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil.
Local activist Osama Makhamrah reported that settlers released their livestock to graze on trees owned by brothers Khader and Khaled Al-Amour in the Al-Rakeez community in Masafer, damaging several trees. The settlers also cut the fencing around the land and vandalized citizens’ property.
Additionally, settlers released livestock onto fruit-bearing trees in Wadi Rahiya, near Al-Rakeez, owned by the Abu Arram family.
Makhamrah noted that such attacks have become a daily occurrence in most villages and hamlets of Masafer Yatta.
Settler attacks in the West Bank show no signs of stopping. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, there were 415 settler attacks among 1,691 total Israeli violations recorded in West Bank cities during May alone.
