GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said that the Israeli occupation continues its criminal policies throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
“The Israeli occupation is continuing its criminal politics, including killing, displacing, demolishing, arresting citizens, and committing the most heinous forms of brutal torture against them, while continuing to close the Gaza Strip’s crossings, preventing aid and food supplies, and cutting off electricity for the tenth consecutive day,” the Movement’s leader, Abdul Rahman Shadid, said in a press conference on Tuesday.
Shadid called on mediators to exert all pressure on Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his government to abide by the ceasefire terms, open the crossings, and allow entry of aid supplies.
The senior Hamas official pointed out that a fresh round of Gaza ceasefire talks began on Tuesday in the Qatari capital Doha, with the Palestinian Movement approaching the negotiations “positively and responsibly”.
“A new round of ceasefire negotiations began today,” Shadid added. “Our Movement is dealing with these negotiations positively and responsibly.”
“We hope that the current round of negotiations leads to tangible progress toward beginning the second phase,” Shadid said.
He also expressed hope that US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff would help “initiate negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.”
“The US administration bears responsibility due to its unwavering support for the occupying Israeli government,” Shadid concluded.
