OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem, has said the growing calls made by extremist Jewish settlers for performing rituals during their holidays at the Aqsa Mosque have revealed hidden intents to impose Israeli control over the Islamic holy site.
“The Jews are seeking through the ongoing war to achieve on goal, which is to lay their hands on the Aqsa Mosque,” Sheikh Sabri warned in a statement on Monday.
Sheikh Sabri affirmed that the Israeli occupation authority went overboard in its devious practices against the Islamic sanctity of the Aqsa Mosque and its religious and historical stature, holding it fully responsible for any harm coming to the Mosque.
Sheikh Sabri reiterated the fact that the Aqsa Mosque belongs solely and fully to the Palestinian people and the Muslim nation, stressing that all the settler actions happening at the Mosque are “illegal” and “unacceptable” and violate the Muslims’ right to freedom of worship as well as the international law.
Sheikh Sabri also warned of settlers’ incitement against the Islamic Awqaf Administration in Jerusalem, calling for “not playing with fire.”
