Six Palestinians wounded in Israeli raid on Jericho

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Six Palestinians were injured on Tuesday evening when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Jericho, in the eastern West Bank.

Local sources reported that three young men were shot with live ammunition during clashes with the IOF troops. Additionally, a woman was injured after being run over by an Israeli military vehicle.

The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that its crews treated two young men who had been physically assaulted by Israeli soldiers during confrontations in the “Katf Al-Wad” neighborhood of Jericho and provided them with first aid.

Sources also confirmed that the IOF raided a home on Palestine Street in central Jericho and beat the residents, injuring two of them.

Further south, in the West Bank, Israeli forces stormed Al-Arroub refugee camp north of al-Khalil, firing a large number of tear gas canisters toward civilian homes, causing dozens to suffer from suffocation.

The IOF soldiers also forced shop owners to close their stores at gunpoint and searched several homes, damaging their contents.

In Bethlehem Governorate, the Israeli army raided the town of Tuqu’ southeast of the city, stationed themselves near the municipality building, and violent confrontations broke out. The soldiers fired live bullets, sound bombs, and tear gas at local youths.

Earlier in the day, two solidarity activists were injured after being attacked by Israeli settlers during a raid on the Al-Auja waterfall area north of Jericho. The Red Crescent confirmed its teams handled both injuries, which were caused by direct settler assaults.

Settlers had stormed the area under Israeli military protection and assaulted the activists present there.
