GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)The Hamas Movement has emphasized the important role of mediators in compelling the Israeli enemy to honor all its obligations under the ceasefire agreement after the Palestinian resistance releases the Israeli captives.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas said that al-Qassam Brigades and other resistance factions in Gaza started today to release 20 Israeli captives as part of the first phase of the Trump plan to end the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
“The liberation of our heroic prisoners, including those serving life and long-term sentences who have spent decades behind bars, is the result of the courage and steadfastness of our great people in the Gaza Strip and their valiant resistance. It reflects the resistance’s loyalty to its people and prisoners,” Hamas said.
“Netanyahu and his army failed, over two years of genocidal war and destruction, to free their captives by force, and ultimately had to yield to the conditions set by the resistance, which affirmed that the only path to the return of their captured soldiers is through a prisoner exchange deal and a halt to the genocidal war,” Hamas added.
“The resistance made every effort to preserve the lives of Israeli captives, despite attempts by war criminal Netanyahu and his army to target and eliminate them. Meanwhile, our prisoners in Israeli jails continue to endure various forms of abuse, including assault, torture, and killing,” Hamas underlined.
Hamas concluded its statement by reaffirming that the issue of prisoners will remain a top national priority for its people and the resistance. “Our Palestinian people will not rest until the last prisoner is freed from the neo-Nazis’ jails and until the occupation is ousted from our land and holy sites.”
