Hamas thanks Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye for efforts toward Gaza ceasefire deal

GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)The Hamas Movement expressed its deep appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the mediators in Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye over the past two years to reach an agreement to end the aggressive war against the Palestinian people, whether by hosting meetings, working to bring viewpoints closer, bridging gaps between positions, or insisting on overcoming obstacles, efforts that have finally borne fruit in ending the insane war on Gaza.

In a statement on Friday, Hamas also extended its gratitude to all countries and entities that stood by the Palestinian people in all fields, particularly the eight Arab and Islamic countries, as well as Algeria and South Africa, for their role in supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums, including the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice. The Movement also thanked Russia, China, Colombia, and all those who played an active role in stopping the genocidal war and in supporting Palestinian political, legal, and humanitarian positions.

Hamas praised all those who shed their blood alongside the Palestinian people in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and the Islamic Republic of Iran; as well as those who sailed on freedom flotillas to break the siege on Gaza, or who demonstrated in public squares across all continents of the world.

The Movement also expressed gratitude to media outlets that helped expose the enemy’s crimes, publicize the suffering of the Palestinian people, and document the massacres, crimes, and acts of ethnic cleansing committed against them choosing to stand by the truth despite immense pressure, and refusing to yield to “the oppressor’s and terrorist’s narrative.”

In this context, Hamas called on everyone to continue their efforts alongside the Palestinian people urging the mediators to follow up on the implementation of the remaining terms of the agreement, particularly regarding the entry of aid in sufficient quantities, meeting the needs of citizens in the Strip, reopening the Rafah crossing in both directions for civilians, and initiating urgent reconstruction, especially of homes, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and public institutions.

Hamas also stressed the need to immediately proceed with forming the Community Support Committee composed of the group of independents agreed upon nationally, so that it can begin its work in managing the Gaza Strip and oversee the withdrawal of occupation forces from the agreed-upon areas.

Finally, the Movement called for continuing efforts and procedures to hold Israel accountable and prosecute Israeli war criminals for their crimes against the Palestinian people and against humanity at large, to move forward with all forms of boycott, and to continue isolating Israel and its leaders.
