Spike in Israeli violations claims 3 Palestinian lives

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), An Israeli soldier shot and killed a Palestinian civilian on Thursday in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, as Israeli forces continue violating the ceasefire agreement. Two more Palestinians succumbed to injuries from earlier airstrikes, including a deported former prisoner.

A local source confirmed that Bahaa Mohammed Al-Fajam was killed by Israeli gunfire in Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis. Rami Ibrahim Rizq Abu Qershain also died from wounds he sustained in an earlier airstrike on the city.

Additionally, Basel Al-Haimouni, a former prisoner from al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank who was deported to Gaza after being released in the 2011 “Gilad Shalit prisoner swap,” died Thursday from injuries caused by an Israeli airstrike the previous day. The Palestinian Media Office condemned the attack as a continuation of Israel’s collective punishment policy targeting freed prisoners even after release.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes across Gaza Thursday morning, targeting multiple areas across the Strip.

Residential homes were also demolished in eastern Gaza City, while jets struck locations east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

Artillery shelling and drone attacks were reported east of Gaza City. Israeli military bulldozers opened fire in eastern Khan Yunis.

Helicopters also fired on Rafah and Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Naval gunboats heavily bombarded the shores of Khan Yunis and Rafah. Airstrikes hit eastern Khan Yunis again later in the day.

Late last night, Israeli warplanes bombed the home of the Abu Hatab family in the Khan Yunis refugee camp.

The attacks came just one day after a particularly deadly assault in which 24 Palestinians were killed, including 8 children, 3 women, and a paramedic.

Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect, Israeli forces have killed 576 Palestinians, including 179 children and 69 women, and wounded 1,526 others in repeated violations.
