GAZA, (The Palestinian Information Center) United Nations spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that thousands of families in the Gaza Strip are unable to evacuate their areas due to ongoing security and health risks, as well as the prohibitive cost of transportation.
Dujarric explained that nearly 55,000 women in Gaza face severe challenges related to pregnancy and childbirth under conditions he described as “catastrophic and extremely dangerous.”
He stressed that evacuation orders do not absolve warring parties of their legal obligations to protect civilians under international humanitarian law.
Dujarric also expressed the United Nations’ deep concern over Israeli airstrikes on Yemen, while also voicing alarm over the continued Houthi attacks on Israel.
The Israeli army continues its intense offensive on Gaza City, targeting high-rise towers, residential buildings, and multi-story structures as part of its preparations for a ground invasion and the mass displacement of nearly 1.2 million residents, most of whom have refused to evacuate their homes.
