OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards, despite the strict Israeli restrictions.
Throughout the morning, Palestinians flocked through Damascus Gate into the Old City and towards Aqsa Mosque in preparation for Friday prayer.
The Israeli forces stopped young men and checked their IDs in an effort to impede their entry into the Mosque before the prayer.
Meanwhile, Palestinian calls were launched from inside the occupied Palestinian territories and the surrounding towns and villages near Jerusalem, urging people to intensify their presence at Aqsa Mosque, maintain their presence, and confront settler assaults and incursions.
This action comes despite the tight restrictions imposed by Israeli forces at the entrances of Occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque, amid escalating daily violations against worshipers and those maintaining a presence there.
The calls stressed the importance of a large turnout at the Aqsa Mosque and performing prayers there as a practical step to confront Israel’s Judaization measures and break its attempts to isolate the Mosque from its surrounding popular and religious environment.
