WEST BANK, (The Palestine Information Centre) Israeli prison forces broke into and ransacked cells in Negev jail, provoking tension with Palestinian prisoners on Tuesday morning.
According to the Asra Media Office, a state of high tension with the prisoners took place in Negev jail after forces from the Israeli prison service (IPS) raided the cells in section 4.
The tension was reportedly running high in all sections of the prison after the IPS forces transferred dozens of prisoners to other cells and conducted extensive searches.
Consequently, the Negev prisoners decided to close their sections and disband the regulatory committee representing them in the jail.
The prisoners in section 4 recently took disobedience steps, protesting the Negev prison administration’s delay in transferring an elderly prisoner called Ra’ed Badwan to the prison infirmary after he complained of health issues.
