The death toll from aid-related attacks rises to 300

GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hundreds of Palestinians were killed and wounded on Sunday due to intense escalation by Israeli occupation forces targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip, including dozens of civilians who were attempting to obtain humanitarian aid.

Journalistic and medical sources in Gaza reported that “airstrikes and artillery shelling since dawn Sunday have resulted in the death of at least 65 Palestinians and the injury of 315 others, including 17 who were waiting for aid in distribution areas in the southern part of the Strip.”

Despite severe difficulties caused by the siege and the deteriorating healthcare infrastructure, ambulance teams managed to transfer the wounded to Nasser Medical Complex and field hospitals in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, the death toll of the aid massacres since aid distribution began on May 27 has risen to 300, with more than 2,649 injured. The Israeli army is accused of using the aid mechanism as a weapon to humiliate civilians and force them to flee their areas.

According to the US aid distribution plan, the “Gaza Humanity Foundation”—a US-backed organization—is responsible for humanitarian assistance in Gaza. It manages what are now referred to as “humanitarian bubbles,” which will be designated for the remaining Palestinians in “neighborhoods protected by walls and surrounded by barriers,” run by special security teams. Entry will only be allowed for individuals who pass a biometric identity verification.

Little is known about the “Gaza Humanity Foundation,” which has been officially registered in Geneva since February. The United States has endorsed the foundation, without clarifying whether it is directly involved in its operations.

The founder and CEO of the organization is Jake Wood, a former marine sniper who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. On social media, he has posted multiple statements expressing support for Israel.

International organizations continue to criticize the aid distribution mechanism, arguing it is being used as a military and political tool against civilians in the Strip.

With full American support, Israeli forces have been committing a genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in over 184,000 Palestinians killed or wounded—most of them women and children—along with more than 11,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced.
