AMMAN (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Thousands of Jordanians bid farewell to martyr Maher Al-Jazi, who carried out the shooting operation at the Al-Karameh crossing that led to the killing of three Israeli soldiers on September 8.
The mourners carried the martyr’s body on their shoulders wrapped in the Jordanian flag and performed the funeral prayer in Al-Husseiniya Mosque before burying him in his hometown in Ma’an Governorate.
The mourners chanted slogans praising the martyr and supporting the Palestinian resistance.
This morning, the martyr’s family received his body from the Jordanian authorities, after Israeli occupation authorities detained the body for eight days following the incident.
Over the past week, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan witnessed demonstrations and protests demanding the return of his body.
Last Sunday, Maher Al-Jazi carried out a shooting operation that killed three Israeli soldiers at the Al-Karamah border crossing with Jordan, east of the West Bank.
Since the start of the Israeli war of genocide on Gaza on October 7, demonstrations have continued in Jordan, calling for revoking the Jordanian agreements with Israel.
