AL-KHALIL (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Three Israeli police officers were shot dead in western al-Khalil on Sunday morning.
The Hebrew radio reported that the three came under fire by Palestinian resistance fighters near Tarqumiya in western al-Khalil.
It added that the attackers managed to withdraw safely from the scene in a speeding vehicle.
Hebrew media said that the three police officers were seriously wounded and declared dead a while later.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it received news of a shooting attack and that large forces headed to the area.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli occupation forces stormed Edhna village to the northwest of al-Khalil soon after the shooting incident.
