BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Three Lebanese civilians were killed and another injured on Sunday in two separate Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, one targeting a motorcycle in the town of Yater and the other hitting a car between the towns of Safad al-Batikh and Bra’shit, in yet another escalation in Israel’s ongoing attacks on the region.
In a related development, an Israeli drone dropped bombs on two excavators in the town of Shebaa, while Israeli positions in Ramtha, near the Bastra farm, were targeted with gunfire.
Later, a municipal council member in the town of Jwayya (Tyre district) was killed in another Israeli airstrike, raising the day’s death toll to three, according to available reports.
Local sources also reported that Israeli artillery shelled Shanouh Farm and Wadi al-Yas on the outskirts of the town of Helta in Kfarchouba, Nabatieh Governorate.
Meanwhile, Israeli reconnaissance drones heavily patrolled the skies over Tyre overnight and into the morning, especially over the town of Yanouh, according to the National News Agency (NNA).
The agency noted that a unit from the Lebanese Army remains stationed near a home that had received an Israeli threat the previous day. Security forces have also set up checkpoints at the town’s entrances.
Earlier today, the agency reported that Israeli drones were flying at very low altitudes over the villages of the Zahrani region, amid intensified aerial activity across southern Lebanon.
Previously, the Israeli military had issued an urgent warning to the residents of Yanouh, calling on them to evacuate a building and its surroundings, claiming it intended to target “Hezbollah military infrastructure.” However, the strike was later postponed.
The escalation comes amid increasing Israeli rhetoric about preparing for military action, citing the “growing capabilities of Hezbollah” and threatening a large-scale assault if the Lebanese government fails to disarm the group before the end of 2025.
