Top Hamas delegation attends funeral of Hezbollah leaders Nasrallah and Safieddin

BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by political bureau member Osama Hamdan participated on Sunday in the funeral of late Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah and his deputy Hashem Safieddin in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Hundreds of thousands of people marched in the funeral procession of Nasrallah and Safieddin, who were martyred in Israeli airstrikes last year.

The Hamas delegation included senior Hamas officials Taher an-Nunu, Ali Baraka and Ahmed Abdul-Hadi.

The delegation conveyed the Hamas leadership’s sincerest condolences to the leadership of Hezbollah and the brotherly Lebanese people, highlighting that martyr Nasrallah died fighting for the liberation of Jerusalem.

The delegation avowed that the blood of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders “will not go in vain and will remain a beacon lighting the path for those who succeed them.”

In a statement on Sunday, the Hamas Movement recalled the heroic and honorable positions and deeds of late Hezbollah leaders Hasan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieedin in support of Palestine, and hailed their great martyrdom for the liberation of Jerusalem.

“As we bid farewell to the two great martyrs, the secretary-generals of Hezbollah, martyr Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddin, we offer our sincerest condolences anew to the brotherly Lebanese people and our Arab and Muslim nations,” Hamas said.
