GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, said in a statement on Tuesday after visiting the Gaza Strip, “The scale of destruction is immense, the humanitarian needs are colossal and soaring, and civilians continue to bear the brunt of this conflict.”
“I unequivocally condemn the horrifying civilian death toll in Gaza,” he added.
Wennesland reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire.
He also said that he visited a Polio vaccination center and welcomed the humanitarian pauses in fighting to allow for the vaccination campaigns to take place.
“The ongoing conflict has destroyed the lives of countless families. It must stop,” the UN envoy concluded.
