Karachi (Palestine Foundation Information Center) As part of an ongoing campaign to commemorate 77 Palestinian Nakba Day, a tree plantation event under slogan #WeShallReturn was organized at the University of Karachi, the largest university in the city. The event, arranged by the Palestine Academic Forum of Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF), saw the planting of one hundred trees as a gesture of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.
It is worth noting that PLF had previously announced the “Nakba Day” campaign, running from May 7 to May 16, under the theme of Palestinian Nakba Day (We Shall Return). Various programs are being held across different cities as part of this initiative.
The tree plantation at the University of Karachi was dedicated to all victims of Palestinian Nakba Day by the faculty members of the Palestine Academic Forum of PLF.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of students, along with prominent figures including: Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Secretary General of Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Muslim Pervez, Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Mahfouz Yar Khan, Advocate and former Member of the Sindh Assembly, Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Dr. Maroof Bin Rauf, Dr. Zeeshan Iqbal, Dr. Saleha Rehman, Dr. Atif Aslam Rao, Dr. Nida Ahmed, Dr. Tahseen Ahmed, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz, Dr. Ghazanfar Ali, Dr. Humaira, and Samina Ahmed, among others.
Participants expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people by planting trees in remembrance of Nakba Day.
