Türkiye emphasizes need for urgent relief and reconstruction measures.

ANKARA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement, led by Khalil al-Hayya, met on Monday with Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara and discussed with him several issues related to the situation and developments in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Hamas said that the delegation briefed the Turkish minister on the Movement’s keenness on solidifying the ceasefire agreement, stressing that it had fully honored its commitments despite repeated and serious Israeli violations against Palestinians in Gaza.

The delegation also discussed with the minister the ongoing efforts to advance the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing the need for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the reopening of the Rafah border crossing in both directions, and the provision of vital humanitarian aid and shelter supplies to the population.

The Hamas delegation expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s support of Gaza, particularly its role in advancing the ceasefire agreement and providing humanitarian relief.

For his part, minister Fidan stressed that Türkiye would not stop defending the Palestinian rights in international meetings and events, reiterating Ankara’s unwavering political and humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.

The minister also affirmed that his country was making considerable efforts to address the humanitarian needs of Gaza’s population and alleviate their suffering.
